There’s a housing development under construction near New Port Richey in Pasco County. It’s just off U.S. 19, on the west side of the Pithlachascotee River. When complete, this 36-acre development will have 125 homes. There’ll be a pool, a clubhouse, a park for the kids and a park for the dogs. The community itself will be gated. Nice, right? But is it a big deal? Developments under construction in Florida are a dime a dozen, as common as alligators in lakes or love bugs stuck to your hood in the spring.
